In addition, a $500 gift card will be presented to the teacher of each scholarship recipient’s choice to support professional development or classroom resources.

High school students who exhibit ambition and initiative in making a positive impact in their communities by inspiring others to seek higher education may submit their applications by December 18. All applicants must:

Show evidence of financial necessity.
Be seniors in high school intending to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university located in the United States.
Live in one of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.

Scholarship America Dream Grant

The Scholarship America Dream Award aims to assist students in advancing towards their degrees by offering scholarships that can support them for up to four years. Current undergraduate students have the opportunity to receive renewable scholarships of as much as $10,000 annually.

Dream Award Scholars include individuals like Jaden Banks, a native of the Bay Area, whose lifelong love for Legos has naturally evolved into his current pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree at Southern University and A & M College. Growing up in a single-parent household with four brothers, Jaden encountered many challenges, including a time of homelessness. As the first member of his family to attain a college degree, Jaden takes great pride in surpassing expectations, achieving Dean’s List recognition, participating in varsity tennis, and becoming a member of the National Society of Black Engineers.

To join Jaden and the other Dream Award Scholars, students must be at least 17 years old and plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States for the entirety of the 2024-25 academic year. Applicants are required to pursue their initial bachelor’s or associate’s degree and must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).

Finally, candidates must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents (owners of a Permanent Resident Card), or those granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA).

Financial need will be taken into account when determining the amounts of the awards, which are renewable for three additional years or until a first bachelor’s degree is obtained, whichever comes first.
